Ombudsman

RA Dr. Gabriele Morandell has been the Ombudsman of South Tyrol since July 14, 2014.

Foto VolksanwältinThe Ombudsman is a mediator elected by the South Tyrolean Parliament to mediate between citizens and the public administration. The Office of the Ombudsman is supported by a team of qualified coworkers.

The Ombudsman is a mediator elected by the South Tyrolean Parliament to mediate between citizens and the public administration. She works to defend the rights and interests of citizens vis-à-vis the public administration. She checks that the procedures of an agency were legal and appropriate, informs, consults, and mediates in the event of conflicts with the public administration.
In order to properly discharge these duties, she works freely and independently and is supported by a team of qualified coworkers.

Inquiries and complaints are treated confidentially. The Ombudsman and her staff are bound by official secrecy. Access to the Office of the Ombudsman is free of charge.

In addition to daily office hours in Bozen / Bolzano, the Ombudsman has regular office hours in Brixen / Bressanone, Bruneck / Brunico, Meran / Merano, Neumarkt / Egna, Schlanders / Silandro, Sterzing / Vipiteno, St. Ulrich in Gröden / Ortisei in Val Gardena, and St. Martin in Thurn / S. Martino in Badia.
Furthermore, office hours are held in the hospitals of Bozen / Bolzano, Brixen / Bressanone, Bruneck / Brunico, and Meran / Merano. Information about the exact times is available at the aforementioned contact addresses.
